My melodic reggaeton track. For a change this did not start as a bootleg but I did use elements from Complicated and Spring, like the vocal glide as the hook on the drop. A lot of influences on this one, specially Justin Bieber’s Sorry produced by Skrillex and Blood. There’s just something about sampling vocals and applying them as synths that I find quite interesting.
Spring also started as a bootleg, this time for Buraka Som Sistema’s Stoopid. The bootleg had so much original work that I though it could work as an original. While exploring vocal glide synths I found the perfect horn to glue the more melodic side of the track with the heavy moombahton beat. The second drop with half time beat has to be one of my favourites pieces of music I ever wrote.
This track started as a bootleg for Duia by Da Weasel. At the time I was also trying to crack a bootleg for Step by Step by Gregor Salto and Laidback Luke. The 128bpm was not really doing the trick for the latter so I went to a higher BPM and reused parts from the unfinished Duia project. More than a month later I went back to the project, changed the key, got new vocals and Complicated was born!
